These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website yarviko.com and the car rental services provided by Yarviko Co., Ltd. ("Yarviko", "we", "us"). By booking a vehicle with Yarviko, you agree to these Terms in full.
1. Definitions
- "Rental Agreement" — The contract between Yarviko and the renter at the time of vehicle pick-up.
- "Renter" — The person who books and takes possession of the vehicle.
- "Authorised Driver" — Any driver listed on the Rental Agreement.
- "Vehicle" — Any motor vehicle provided by Yarviko under a Rental Agreement.
2. Eligibility and Requirements
- The minimum rental age is 21 years. Renters aged 21–24 may be subject to a young driver surcharge.
- Luxury and Premium vehicles require a minimum age of 25.
- A valid driving licence held for a minimum of 1 year is required.
- Foreign nationals must present a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside their national licence, unless exempted by bilateral agreement.
- A valid credit or debit card in the renter's name is required for the security deposit.
3. Booking and Payment
- Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of full payment or deposit as specified at checkout.
- All prices are in Korean Won (₩) and include VAT unless otherwise stated.
- Fuel costs are the renter's responsibility. Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at pick-up.
- Toll charges, parking fines, traffic violations and similar charges incurred during the rental period are the renter's sole responsibility.
4. Cancellation and Refunds
- Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled pick-up time qualify for a full refund.
- Cancellations within 24 hours of pick-up may result in a charge equivalent to one day's rental.
- Monthly rentals require 72 hours' notice for cancellation without penalty.
- No-show without prior notice will result in forfeiture of the full rental amount.
5. Vehicle Use
The renter agrees not to:
- Drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any impairing substance.
- Use the vehicle for commercial transportation of passengers for hire.
- Drive outside the borders of South Korea without prior written consent.
- Allow any unauthorised driver to operate the vehicle.
- Carry hazardous materials or use the vehicle for any illegal purpose.
- Sublet, assign or transfer the vehicle or the rental agreement.
6. Insurance and Liability
- All rentals include basic Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP).
- The renter is liable for an excess amount as specified in the Rental Agreement for any damage or theft not covered under the insurance terms.
- Full coverage insurance that eliminates the excess is available as an optional upgrade at booking.
- Insurance does not cover damage caused by reckless driving, driving under the influence, or violations of these Terms.
7. Vehicle Return
- Vehicles must be returned to the agreed location at the agreed time.
- Late returns will incur additional daily charges at the applicable rate.
- Vehicles must be returned in the same condition as received, normal wear and tear excepted.
- Yarviko staff will conduct a vehicle inspection upon return. Any damage identified will be charged to the renter.
8. Roadside Assistance
24/7 roadside assistance is included with every rental. In the event of a breakdown or accident, renters must contact Yarviko immediately at +82-2-785-4400. Do not arrange third-party repairs without prior approval.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Seoul Central District Court.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yarviko shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from the use of our vehicles or services.
11. Amendments
Yarviko reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
